3 Valentine's Day Suggestions on St Pete Beach

February, a month associated with romance and varied fanciful legends borrowing from both Christian and ancient Roman legends. Valentine's Day is a sweet day and night expressing mutual admiration for the one you adore. This often involves sharing of cards, flower and candy in heart shaped boxes. The origin of the traditional heart that we see most abundantly from January 1st each year until February 14th also has murky origins, with several explanations each with their own feeling of validity. Whatever accoutrements one uses to assist in the creation of a magical day and evening expressing love, one of the most cherished and iconic is the romantic dinner for two. Often imagined as an over the top affair with candle lit rooms strewn with rose petals and a hidden string quartet to provide atmosphere, a simpler option may be dinner for two with a magnificent sunset to witness the tender affairs of the heart. Below you will find three fabulous options for this most special day.

1. Rumfish Grill-6000 Gulf Blvd, St Pete Beach

This fabulous resturant features a huge floor to ceiling salt-water tank that steals the spotlight initially but the food and service keep people coming back. One the great features is the backlit menu that allows those with visual issues the ability to select their yummy requests without interferring with the ambience. The cobia is phenomenal on my last visit but everthing is good and the lobster mac and cheese looks positively decadent. Put a little wow in the evening at the Guy Harvey OutPost. For Reservations go to the reservations page at: http://www.rumfishgrill.com/reservations/.

2. Fetishes Dining and Wine Bar-6305 Gulf Blvd, St Pete Beach

This intimate setting consistently receives great reviews for service and food. Try Baked Camembert for two followed by Cheautaubriand tableside to impress your beloved on this special day. Guests state the 'atmosphere, food, service and experience are remarkable'. If you are looking for something a little less crowded to set the mood, this may be the place. Click here for reservations

3. Shaner's Land and Sea-2000 Pass a Grille Way, Pass a Grille Beach

One of the best ways to show your appreciation for your inamorata would be to cook for them yourself and the best places around to procure the products to prepareis Shaner's Land and Sea! Peruse the wares to find precisely the right menu for your dearest or have Mikey help with theselection perhaps for a surprise picnic on the beach. Grab a blanket and a bottle of wine, walk hand in hand and head for the sand! Toast your one and only with waves serenading and the moonlight spilling all around. For information call: 727-367-4292

Other praiseworthy suggestions include Spinner's and Gennaro's, loved every day by locals!
